Quectel Wireless Solutions Launches FGH100M Wi-Fi HaLow Module for Long-Range IoT Connectivity

Quectel Wireless Solutions, a global leader in IoT solutions, introduces the FGH100M Wi-Fi HaLow module, revolutionizing long-range IoT connectivity. This module boasts extensive benefits, including impressive data transmission range, low power consumption, simplified implementation, and enhanced signal penetration through obstacles. These features cater to a wide range of IoT applications.

The FGH100M adopts the IEEE 802.11ah wireless networking protocol, also known as Wi-Fi HaLow, which operates in the Sub-1GHz range exempt from licensing. This strategic positioning perfectly aligns with IoT requirements, providing Sub-1GHz signal coverage that enables users to manage IoT devices within a one-kilometer radius. The module offers ten times the range of conventional Wi-Fi, rendering it highly suitable for both indoor and outdoor scenarios, such as home automation, industrial applications, smart agriculture, cities, buildings, warehouses, and campuses.

Powered by Morse Micro’s MM6108 Wi-Fi HaLow SoC, the FGH100M adheres to the IEEE 802.11ah Wi-Fi standard, operating in the 850–950MHz bands with selectable channel widths of 1/2/4/8MHz. Featuring a 21 dBm maximum output power and a 32.5Mbps maximum transmission rate, it sets new benchmarks for performance.

The FGH100M Wi-Fi HaLow module introduces exceptional power efficiency, supporting coin cell battery devices with extended operational lifespans of months or years. This attribute is pivotal for applications like smart sensors and condition monitors. Unlike comparable IoT technologies, Wi-Fi HaLow supports native IP, eliminating the need for proprietary gateways, controllers, or hubs. This streamlined approach simplifies installation and reduces operational costs. The FGH100M meets the latest Wi-Fi security requisites, supporting authentication and encryption protocols like WPA3 and AES for over-the-air (OTA) data. Furthermore, it employs advanced encryption algorithms such as SHA-256, SHA-384, and SHA-512, bolstering data security during transmission.

With dimensions of just 13.0mm × 13.0mm × 2.2mm, the FGH100M optimizes end-product size and design costs, catering seamlessly to size-sensitive applications. Moreover, the module offers a comprehensive array of interfaces, including UART, SPI, I2C, SDIO 2.0, and PWM.
